First, pack zongzi

In my hometown, a week before the Dragon Boat Festival, families with zongye and palm leaves would carry them to the market to sell. At this time, many villagers also went to the bazaar to buy. After buying rice dumplings and palm leaves, they will go up the mountain to dig the roots of bauhinia and gardenia trees. The ingredients used when cooking zongzi can reduce the heat of zongzi. )

On the Dragon Boat Festival, as soon as it was dawn, the villagers got up one by one. The first thing to do when you get up is to soak the right amount of glutinous rice in a large vat, then build a pot to make a fire, and boil the rice dumplings and palm leaves in a pot. After it is cooked, it is carried in a basket or bucket to the crystal clear river in front of the village. Gluttonous and sensible children will also be there to help, with sweet smiles on their faces, which are thicker than the Spring Festival.

After washing zongye and palm leaves, I went home and soaked the yellow gardenia in a large bowl. The ingredients used in wrapping zongzi have the function of dyeing. Then pour the glutinous rice from the vat into a clean bucket and flush it in the well. After washing, dry it slightly with a small dustpan, pour it into another clean bucket, sprinkle it with soaked gardenia water on the glutinous rice, use a clean spoon to do it, and immediately all the glutinous rice turns golden. Ordinary villagers add peanut kernels and red dates to glutinous rice, while wealthy villagers add not only peanut kernels and red dates to glutinous rice, but also chicken and pork. Villagers pack a variety of rice dumplings, including triangular rice dumplings, pillow rice dumplings, two-legged rice dumplings and so on.

Second, boil zongzi

After wrapping the zongzi, the villagers will burn the rice straw into ash, pack it in a clean snakeskin bag, soak it in a large wooden basin for more than ten minutes, and soak the wrapped zongzi in water for more than ten minutes. In order to eat zongzi within an hour, the villagers do not use a big black pot to cook zongzi, but use a large pressure cooker to cook zongzi. At this time, the children will jump for joy again, because in less than a few minutes, they can eat sweet zongzi. In fact, cooking zongzi is also skillful, according to different zongzi, the size of the fire is not the same, such as peanut kernel zongzi, most of the time, the fire does not need to be too big, just cook slowly. Zongzi boiled, aroma overflowing, the whole village is filled with the fragrance of zongye, the aroma irritates people's heartstrings, let people lick lips and swallow water from time to time, can not help but immediately lift the lid of the pot, use chopsticks to pick up a zongzi to taste. Especially for children, when they smell the smell of zongzi, they always rely on their families to pick up zongzi in the pot. I remember that one year during the Dragon Boat Festival, my greedy big brother was at home, my grandmother was slow to make zongzi, and everyone else cooked it, but my grandmother's zongzi was in the middle of cooking, and the eldest brother cried and asked Grandma to pick up a dumpling with chopsticks to taste it. Grandma was so helpless that she finally wrapped a rice dumplings for her eldest brother.

Third, eat zongzi

Ordinary zongzi will be thoroughly cooked after being boiled in a pressure cooker for an hour. At this time, both adults and children will gather around the pot, and when the lid of the high-pressure pot is lifted, the whole family will be very happy, and every family will be the same. Greedy children always want to get a zongzi first, and adults are afraid that the boiling water will burn the children. Let the children guess riddles first every time. The right child can eat a chicken zongzi or pork zongzi first, and the unguessed child can eat zongzi after defecating. In my impression, one of the riddles that the villagers guessed most for their children was that the woman on the field, the man in the mountain, went to take a bath in her clothes, took off her clothes and went to worship (sugar). This riddle is a bit difficult for children, because they do not know that the girl on the field refers to glutinous rice; the Lang in the mountain refers to zongye; to take a bath in clothes means to boil zongzi; to take off his clothes to worship sugar means to remove the sticky sugar from zongzi before eating it; but with a little hint, they understand.

The child who guessed first, soaked the hot zongzi in the cold water with a pair of chopsticks, then took it out of the water, wrapped it with a chopstick, stuck some sugar in the bowl, and ate it with relish. The unguessed child went to get zongzi at this time. While eating zongzi, adults will tell the children the origin of packing zongzi, the story of the patriotic poet qu Yuan, the children listen attentively every time, and sometimes forget to eat zongzi. After telling the story and eating enough zongzi, the children will show off to their partners with chopsticks. At this time, the partner also takes out the zongzi wrapped at home and compares them with each other. Fourth, drink realgar wine

After eating zongzi, the adults will bring the wine to the hall, then pour realgar into the wine and mix it with a clean spoon. Like Wang and Xiong, these are what children often ask adults to write. Unfinished realgar wine will be sprinkled around the house by adults. In fact, we all know that drinking realgar is to ward off evil spirits, sprinkling around the house is to kill a hundred insects.

5. Collecting traditional Chinese medicine

The villagers think that Dragon Boat Festival is a day for the mother of medicine to dry the medicine. If it is a sunny day, the villagers will be worried that many people will be sick this year, because on this day, the five poisons will come out in large numbers to harm people, and the goddess will burn a large amount of medicine to treat those patients. If it is a rainy day, the five poisons rarely come out to harm people, and the goddess of medicine does not use sunbathing, so few people will get sick this year, and people do not have to worry too much about the disease. But no matter whether it is sunny or rainy, the villagers will go to collect medicine, because no one is not sick, and the villagers think that the medicine on this day will be influenced by the mother of medicine, which is more than ten times better than the usual medicine.

After drinking realgar wine, the villagers walked towards the mountains or ridges one after another, carrying hoes and carrying traps on their backs. When you see the drugs you know, pick or dig them. Such as plantain, houttuynia, moxa, tiger thorn, light bamboo leaves, Prunella vulgaris, horseshoe incense, oolong, broad leaves and other medicines that can be used at home must be dug, washed and dried in the sun or shade for normal use.
